Av-Intel started it's lighter than air activities more than 20 years ago with the development and test of the Magnus Airship.  This was a spherical airship that developed additional lift through rotation on a horizontal axis.  This early design led to the current long fineness ratio patented design which was flight-tested to an altitude of 10,000-ft.

During this time the company advanced the design through contracts and work with the US SDIO "Star Wars" office, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lockheed, FedEx and Westland Helicopters.  As a result of its work, the company received several awards for excellence and is prepared to develop and test a full-scale prototype.
