TECHNOLOGY BREAKTHROUGH
Lowest capital cost and safety are the results of
Av-Intel's technology breakthrough which is protected by
awarded patents. For the first time, airships will be
able to haul cargo at competitive prices. The approach
is an airship built via a series of cylindrical sections
whereby the stresses of flight are absorbed at the
junctures of these cylindrical sections. Without the
need for internal supporting structure, more weight
lifting capability can be dedicated to payload and
additional fuel. Other patented features include the
propulsion at the forward section. This insures
excellent low speed flight control and obviates the need
for large ground crews for assist at landing. The
result is a long, cigar shaped airship that is
reminiscent of the Shenandoah class of airships.
Av-Intel has tested 1/4 scale prototypes, one of which
flew at 10,000-ft altitude near Mexico City.
